They don’t offer writing from scratch, editing, or proofreader. There are no writers to do other tasks. It is just a simple program (even though it is based on artificial intelligence) that provides previously set actions. 

This leads to a rather common question: Does PaperRater steal your work? According to the company, it doesn’t. However, we can’t be sure that their databases are secure, and no one is able to hack the system and steal your paper. When uploading a document to PaperRater, it is always at risk.

If your text is larger than 5 pages and you don’t want to stick with Paper Rates longer, what should you do? The company makes you spend money by limiting the number of pages in a free mode. It is rather disappointing.

We have scanned the website from cover to cover and couldn’t find any discounts or special offers. Their policies are clear: either you use the free or the paid mode—nothing in between. On the one hand, this approach is easy to explain because you have a free alternative. But the yearly subscription is quite pricey (considering the quality of their services), so adding at least a small discount or a few perks would be a plus.

Be ready to spend some time and nerves to find the necessary information. They are very good at hiding the terms, payment peculiarities, and other important details.

To start using Paper Rater, you need to create a personal account. To do so, press the Log In/Sign Up button in the upper right corner of the home page. The process of creating an account consists of the following steps:

We recommend being very attentive because we couldn’t find any information on how PaperRater protects and encrypt data, so your personal details and banking data may be at risk. If you doubt, we recommend sticking to the free version where you don’t need to insert card details.

As you already know, PaperRater is a computer program which means that there are no deadlines and the text is scanned in a matter of minutes. The company claims that the built-in algorithm checks documents on syntax, structure, punctuation, and plagiarism within seconds, but our experience shows that the process takes a few minutes. You don’t deal with any delays or waiting time which is a plus. But considering the quality of the corrections and reports, it can hardly be named an advantage.

Professionalism of Writers

Paper Rater is based on computer algorithms and not on live writers. The technologies they use are machine learning and natural language processing, even though they are rather outdated. You won’t find writers, editors, or proofreaders here, and after analyzing lots of Paperrater essay service reviews, we came to the conclusion that people tend to trust specialists more than they trust computers and programs.

Quality of Content

We have uploaded a 4-page document in a free version (because couldn’t reach customer support and ask about data protection measures). And the quality of the assignment was even worse than the original text! The structure was confusing, there were vocabulary errors, and the overall smoothness of the document was violated.

There is no Paperrater plagiarism checker, and they scan documents using online tools available in open access. As you understand, these tools are free to use and don’t guarantee accurate results. The plagiarism check showed that the document was 100% original even though we intentionally copied and pasted two paragraphs from a free essay sample on the Internet.

Everything is also quite bad when it comes to policies and guarantees. When you read their terms and conditions, you see that all the purchases are nonrefundable.
